How Could We Be So Cruel?
I have yet to comment on the Gitmo diet story.
Ok, so let me get this straight... We're offering the prisoners a menu totalling 4,200 calories, in order to give them variety. We're also bending over backwards to prepare the food in accordance with their customs. The inmates are free to choose anything from the menu, and people are complaining???
Maybe the prisoners are choosing to eat. Fattening up before a hunger strike might help them extend their protests.
One detainee has gained almost 200 pounds, now weighing in at 410? You've got to admire his resolve. He's so determined to be a martyr that he's going to eat until he explodes.

2 Amendments:
Well, feeding them until they explode would be a cheaper option in the long run than keeping them confined. I'd say feeding them is a good investment. ;-)
Put that one detainee in drag and he can find work as Rosie O'Donnell's stunt double.
