    Go Pack!

I've finally had the chance to live the Lambeau Field experience.

I had a good time, of course. To be honest, I barely watched the game. When I go to any game I tend to get caught up in the stadium experience: peanut vendors, bathroom breaks, people wanting to sneak past you, obnoxious fans, all that good stuff. I spend an average of five minutes watching the field and I never have a clue what's going on.

Lambeau is a great place to see a game. All the seats feel really close to the field. I don't think there's a bad one in the house. Binoculars would've been nice, but even without them I could see Brett Favre pacing the sidelines.

There are some things you should know on your first visit to Lambeau Field:
    1. Stadium parking is reserved. You need a pass to park in the lot.

    2. Oneida street northbound is closed for games. You'll want to drive down Lombardi to find parking. East of the stadium the parking seems to be cheaper and closer.

    3. The bleacher seating gets uncomfortable, really fast. Bring a cushion, or rent one.

    4. The sun is brutal in the seating area. I have no idea how the players manage, because it gets really warm in the stadium!

    5. The stairs are steep! Going down from the stands, I was really glad that I didn't drink much during the game.
Because the day was so warm, I do have one major complaint with the whole experience. This applies to ALL events: Summerfest, ball games, and anywhere the venue is controlling carry-ins and not allowing visitors to bring in their own water. The facility should be responsible for providing their guests with water, FREE OF CHARGE. I would think it's a public health issue.

I looked around and didn't spot a drinking fountain (bubbler) anywhere. They could be well hidden, I suppose. Without one, there is no way to hydrate yourself, your family, or your pregnant girlfriend without standing in line! After you've stood in line, you have to hope that the vendor isn't out of water and that you have enough cash on hand. That's just not right. People need water, especially on hot days. If you're not allowed to bring your own, it should be provided. Staying hydrated is a necessity, not a choice. But, so long as it's legal to do so, the various facilities are going to continue to bend us over a barrel.

Well, son of a gun, I was there, too. My first time also. I was on the other side--probably in your picture (20 yard line section 116 row 31; nice and close--I could hear the players when they shouted really loud)

Since it was my first time, I followed some likely Packer fans and found free parking on the street about 6-8 blocks from the stadium.

You might be able to view the pictures I took.

    That is great.
I would like to go to Lambert er Lambeau field too.
Bears Packers game in December or January has really got to be the ultimate though.

    6. If driving from Milwaukee, you should make sure everyone meets at least 4 hours before game time to allow enough time for all un-expected fiascos, leaving enough time to eat and drink before the game.

    7. Make sure you have your tickets before you venture to Green Bay, to insure not missing any part of the game and seeing Brett play.
