Survivor is Pure Genius
As you must know by now, the next season of Survivor will divide the tribes up by ethnicity: black , white, Asian, and Latino. It's the kind of genius planning that put Survivor and reality television on the map.
I'm sure that the creators are going out of their way to ensure fairness in this competition. No one can honestly claim that the show is race baiting or being unfair in any way, so long as the tribes are the same size and all contestants are given the same challenges. But, won't it be fun to watch people try and cry foul on this one? I'm certain the contestants, who will most likely be aware of the racial nature of this contest, will turn this into a PC nightmare.
This overly optimistic comment on the Survivor web site demonstrates the false hope that somehow the contestants on a reality TV show are going to overcome their differences (or sameness) in a high-stress, competitive environment.
Survivor and CBS have stacked the deck in their favor and they're playing the race card better than anyone has before!

Maybe this whole "race" thing might actually be a good idea and people will actually work together! What a concept...Dream on! This whole race thing is a train wreck in the making. You want to watch it. You NEED to watch it. The instant a stereotype become evident there will be a flurry of protests, and CHA-CHING, free publicity!

I think it's safe to assume that all went well, by the reaction of Probst in interviews I have seen, I think they are happy with how things went. They have finished filming already, so it really is over, but I am still interested to see how it went.
(Yes, I admit that I am a Survivor fan, although I do still question the decision to separate the tribes by race.)
They need to do tribes of Russians, Germans, and Americans, or something weirder. Isrealis and Palestinians?
