Patrick recently griped about the service he's getting on his Mastercard account.
This got me thinking about how truly frustrating banking is. Where else can your account be bought, sold, renamed, and restructured all without your knowledge or consent? Your finances are extremely important to you, yet it seems that you're never in charge. What if your grocery store could just stop on by and change the brands on everything in your refrigerator, and then not tell you that they've closed the store and moved six blocks away?
There's something to be said for the old cash under the mattress routine.

That just makes up for everything else now, doesn't it?
I keep my $7.68 in a coffee can next to the garden.
