Everybody else seems to be putting up these types of posts lately. At the BBA, I've posted some mapping data of crimes in Milwaukee. I offer a little commentary, but basically I think the pictures speak for themselves.
If you see something different, perhaps your glasses are a different color than mine.
Side note: this was one of the first things that came to mind as a potential post when the BBA invited me to join. I've just been sitting on it for too long!

Or maybe you see something different because you used to live in Oakland. Which I did, and which is one reason I live out in Rock County.
Recently, I stopped on a corner at night in an interesting-looking neighborhood north of the center of Milwaukee to ask a very odd looking black dude how to get to the Civic Center. He looked like he'd fought with a homeless person and took their clothes.
Never would have done that in Oaktown. He pleasantly and accurately gave me directions, for which I was enormously grateful.
